I am now the owner of a new tent fly! It arrived today. When the hostel owner brought it to me I was overjoyed. I’m now free to cut out of this joint! When I went to the diner for lunch, the waitress said, “Welcome back!” 😂 The guy at the bike rental place addressed the young guy next to him as I passed and said, “…and this young lady passes by here frequently.” I had said hello to him many times because he was always hanging outside of the shop when I passed. So this time I had to explain why I had been passing his shop so may times. I have ripped the main drag of Damascus, Virginia UP, man!😂
About the Doctor…
Doctors and I are just not compatible. They want to prescribe pills, and I don’t want to take them! The doctor was a woman, for which I was grateful. She confirmed that I had a minor infection, but prescribed Cipro (!) for it. What the heck?!? Cipro is a major, heavy antibiotic with horrible side effects, which include torn tendons, neurological issues, permanent disability and death!
I had already been introduced to this antibiotic when it was prescribed for Bud when he had a staff infection. He had some really bad side effects. We went to the emergency room after two doses and told them we wanted something else. My husband is a very intelligent man, and he could barely answer the Doctor’s questions. It was very scary to see him that way. I won’t be taking Cipro, and now that I know what it is, I’ll treat it with over the counter meds and Natural means.
I appreciate everyone’s prayers. Perhaps if you had not, I would have taken this drug and busted a tendon and been forced off the trail. I feel better just knowing what it is and how to treat it. Oh… the other side effect of the other med she prescribed was diarrhea. On the trail? No thank you!
I saw someone with this patch and had to have one! I sewed it onto my pack while I was here at the hostel.
My hiking poles are pictured below. I kind of like it that they are mismatched!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
