First of all, thank you for all of your kind responses. You have no idea how much your words of support and encouragement, as well as your prayers mean to me. I think I will start crying again if I respond to them all individually. They meant so much to me. After crying off and on most of the day, the fountains are finally at a drip, and I want to keep it that way.
Elmer called me in to the dining room this afternoon, where he has been reading most of the day. He gave me an incredibly sincere and heartfelt apology. He said he acted like a total sh*t (his words, not mine) and it was uncalled for. He said what he believed happened (and what I, too, believe happened) is that I signed up on the list for the day before, before it was erased and set for the new day. If I was not on last night’s list (because it had been erased) he had probably been stewing and then blew up when I showed up for breakfast.
He also said he wanted to cover my expenses. I thanked him for the apology, but I insisted on paying him, telling him I enjoyed my stay here. This is the truth. It’s so quiet and peaceful here. The new people who came today were all commenting on it. (They all transferred from the party Hostel I tented at the first night.)
There are no good smells coming from the kitchen tonight. I hear no pots and pans clanging downstairs. All is quiet down there except for the chiming of the clock. I guess the ‘Rebound Incident’ broke the kitchen. I hate it that this happened.
We are finally getting our snow. It’s a light snow, but the temperature has really dropped this afternoon. I’m so glad I’m not out there in my tent.
Not sure if you can see the snow falling in these pics or not. Though it doesn’t seem to be sticking, it’s really coming down!
